We are Jill and Emily Smith, a mother and daughter who’ve been navigating the beautifully complex world of Asperger’s since Emily was diagnosed with the disorder in 2003 at age 12.
This blog contains our views on life. Sometimes we’ll write about autism spectrum disorders. Sometimes we’ll simply share our life experiences.
Emily chose the title “The Autism Fractal” because of the image of fractals as beautiful disorder or structured disorder. Jill likes the definition of fractals as typically self-similar patterns, where self-similar means they are “the same from near as from far.”
This is our look at life, from near and from far. We hope you find something here that you like, and that you’ll share your own viewpoints with us as well.
“I choose to write about my experience not because it is mine, but because it seems to me a door through which others might pass.” — Scott Russell Sanders
